Allaman, John Gilbert (Gib)), age 77, of 5801 7 Gables Ave, Dayton, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital, Sunday evening, February 24.
Mr. Allaman was a life long resident of Dayton. He attended Steele High School and graduated from Otterbein College in 1930. He worked for NCR and retired from Benedict Cooperation in 1971. He was a faithful lifetime member of First United Methodist Church and served on the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, the Board of Trustees and the administrative board.
He leaves his wife of 48 years Ellen Horn) Allaman, daughter Susan and son-in-law Dr. Wayne K. Wright of Vandalia, daughter Sharon and son-in-law Dr. John E. Hoover of Knoxville, TN.; brother David W. Allaman and his wife Martha, and sister-in-law Madeliine L. Allaman.
He was preceded in death by his brother Richard M. Allaman and his parents Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Allaman.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Steven and Diana Wright and Karin and Elizabeth Hoover.
Services will be held Wednesday 3 p.m. at the First Untied Methodist Church,, 1516 Salem Ave. with Meryn L. Matteson and D. Bragg Officiating. Burial Plk Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Carrigan and Mains Funeral Home, 2201 N. Main St. on Tuesday 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Allman, Ellen H., age 74, of Dayton, passed away Sunday evening at the Maria Joseph Living Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was a retired school teacher with the Dayton City School System with 30 years of service at Loos Elementary School. A member of the First United Methodist Church and active in church work, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, the Dayton’s Teacher's College and Miami University.
Preceded in death by her husband J. Gilbert Allaman in 1985.
Survived by 2 daughters and son-in-law, Susan and Dr. Wayne K. Wright of Vandalia; Sharon and Dr. John E. Hoover of Knoxville, TN.; 2 sisters Gladys Horn of Fairborn and Margaret Fennell of Dayton; 1 brother James R. Horn of Dayton; 4 grandchildren, Steve and Diane Wright, and Karen and Elizabeth Hoover.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 1516 Salem Ave. with Rev. Mervyn Matteson officiating. Burial Polk Grove Cemetery. Friends mat call at the Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. If so desired contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the church.

Both are buried at Polk Grove Cemetery, Butler Twp. Montgomery co., Oh.
