About Ellen Jane Philips/Savage (Donohoe)
Ellen 's first marriage was to Samuel Philips and she gave birth to their son Thomas Patrick Philips (later to become known as Thomas Arthur Savage) before his sudden death. He died while the boy was still a baby and the two went to live with her parents Patrick and Mary Ann Donohoe in Poona (Pune).
She next married George Augustus Savage and the family continued to grow as it became established in Kurachee (now Karachi in Pakistan).
It is apparent that Ellen died in childbirth with Charles Richard Savage as she passed away within a month of his birth and with him dying 9 months later.
