Ellen Louise Bowers

WOOSTER — Ellen Louise Horst, 87, of Wooster, died Sept. 3, 2017, at Wooster Community Hospital.

Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Ellen was born April 18, 1930, in Smithville, Ohio to Frank and Ethel {Conrad} Bowers.

She retired from Superior Meats in Massillon after 32 years and attended the Retiree Breakfast Club. Ellen was a member of Dalton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Tree City Quilt Guild and enjoyed cooking, especially for her family, sewing, and crocheting.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her children Treva (Clark) Morris of Wooster, Kevin Horst of Wooster, and Karen (Lee Scott) Schultz of Dalton; grandchildren Vanessa Pidgeon, Tessa Michaels, Corissa Archer, Paul Schultz and Nina Schultz; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Roy (Doris), Wilber (Alberta), Doyle, Earl (Audry), Walter (Sandy), Jim (Judy), Paul (Juanita), and Duane (Janet) Bowers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law Thelma.
