She was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Kosmosdale, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Anna White Hays. She was retired from the Kroger Co., where she worked for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernie Neafus; a brother, Charles Hays; and two sisters, Mary Faith and Anna Timberlake. Survivors include a sister, Catherine Simcox of New Albany, and a companion, Robert Sheckells. Burial will be private.
