LAST RITES FOR MRS. ELLEN LURA
FUNERAL FOR OLD RESIDENT WAS HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Ellen Lura who died Friday after an illness of six weeks.

A short prayer service was held at the home followed by the regular service at the Salem Lutheran church and interment in the Roland cemetery.

Music at the funeral included a song by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud, and Rev. Olaf Holen at the house, and two sons by the Ladies Chorus at the church. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased. Josiah Olson, G. M. Malmin, Peter Egenes, H.E. Evenson, O. L. Evenson and B. W. Evenson.

Ellen Olena Nelson was born in LaSalle county, Ill., on October 7 1856, the youngest child of Elias and Igna Nelson, and died June 16, 1939 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 9 days. She was confirmed by Rev. Eielson. In 1874 she moved to Roland with her family and settled on a farm three miles southwest of Roland. This remained the family home until 1920. On March 16, 1877, she was united in marriage to Hover Hoverson Lura. To this union were born ten children. Mr. Lura passed away on July 30, 1917. In June, 1920 the family moved to Roland, where she spent the remaining years of her life.

She is survived by nine children, Eli of Grafton, N. D., Mrs. Nettie Loomis of Table Rock, Nebr., Edna of Hot Springs, Ark., Victor of Gilbert, and Igna, Bertram, Harriette, Harvey and Mrs. Cora Teig, all of Roland. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Evenson, and nephews and nieces.

All of the children were present at the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Loomis who was unable to be present. Others who attended the funeral were Mrs. A. S. M. Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Erickson of Kanawha, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Evenson, Mrs. Carl Johnson and Mrs. A. M. Cory, of Marshalltown, Mrs. Overby, Joe Johnson and Bertha Lura of Boone, Mrs. Minelva Anderson, Mrs. Viola Bishop, Mrs. Ella Cole, Mrs. Harry Mabbit, of Ames, ben Nelson of Ellsworth, Rev. and Mrs. G. O. Paulsrud, Mrs. Nomer Owenson, of Randall, Mrs. Thor Thorson, mrs. Overland, Mrs. L.O. Jacobson and Eunice, Mrs. Arnold Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Evenson, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Townswick, of Story City, Mrs. Raymond Locke, Mrs. Theodore Thompson and Jeffrey Hougen, of Nevada, Mrs. Oliver Weeks and Thelma of Fernald, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Egenes and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. G. M.
