Ellis M. Honig

Ellis M. Honig, 59, of Laurys Station, died Nov. 6 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was married to Susan K. (Felker) Honig for 14 years last January.

He was professor of psychology at Cedar Crest College, Allentown, for 35 years and was a former psychology department chairman. He received the 1997 Alumnae Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University, a master's degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, and a doctorate in psychology from the University of Windsor.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Harriet E. (Solfer) Honig of Bethlehem and the late Abraham I. Honig.

He was a member of the American Association of University Professors, Psi Chi Honorary Psychological Society, Friends of Cedar Crest Theatre, an honorary member of Alpha Psi Omega, and a former board member of Haven House, Allentown.

Survivors: Wife; mother; daughters, Adena R. Dacy of Silver Spring, Md., Shari N. of New York City, Kelly B. Wagner of Laurys Station; son, Casey J. Wagner of Allentown; sister, Beryl Kunis of Bethlehem; four grandchildren.
