About Elmer Virgil Mann
Obituary: Elmer Virgil Mann passed away April 28, at his home near El Dorado Springs. He was born January 17, 1884, in Gentry County, Missouri, the son of John Mann and Alinda Ebersole Mann, the third in a family of five children.
His father died when he was a small child. At the age of 15, with his mother, sister, and brothers, he came to Cedar County by covered wagon, In 1899 the family settled on the small farm southeast of El Dorado Springs where he spent the remainder of his life.
He was united in marriage to Bertha Reeder, his wife for 59 years, on March 10, 1908. They were the parents of nine children all of whom, with the widow, survive.
They are: Rena Hubbard, El Dorado Springs; Margie Austin, Independence, Missouri; John Mann, Alma Sallee, Linnie Dillsaver, all of El Dorado Springs vincinity; LeRoy Mann, San Diego, Calif.; Mary Jane MacPherson, Independence, Missouri; Elmer Mann, Tampa, Florida; and Frank Mann, Independence, Missouri. He also leaves 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two brothers, alfred Mann of Wichita, Kansas and Tom Mann of Martinez, Calif., as well as several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday Afternoon at the Cantlon Chapel, Stockton, Eld. Fred Blystone officiating. Burial was in Hackleman Cemetery.
