Weekly Shopper Feb 20-26, 2008 Funeral services for Eloise (Hamburger) O'Neill, 86 year-old former Weatherford, OK resident, were held on Wed, February 13, 2008 in "The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home with Harod Goldmann officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Eloise was born on August 23, 1921, southwest of Weatherford, OK, to George and Marie (Rosenoff) Hamburger and passed away on Tuesday, Feb 5, 2008, at her home in Silver Spring, MD, due to heart failure. Eloise was raised on a farm southwest of Weatherford where she attended elementary school. She graduated from Corn High School in Corn, OK. She was raised in the Zion (German) Congregational Churcdh, southwest of Weatherford. In 1942, she joined with several other young women from this area and moved to Washington D.C. to assist in the war effort. Eloise was employed by the FBI and enjoyed a 30 plus year career with them. She was married in Washington, D.C. After retirement, she enjoyed taking care of her home and yard. Eloise was a friendly person that never met a stranger, and this outlook resulted in her having a host of friends.
Eloise is survived by a nephew, Terry Hamburger and fe, Denise of Weatherford, OK; a great nephew and niece, Jacob and Ellen Hamburger of Perry, OK; many cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alvin and Floyd Hamburger.
