Elsey James Weaver, Sr. married his 1st cousin, Lula Jane Weaver on 24 Dec 1919. They raised 5 children (EJ Jr, Hazel, Ethel, Eugene & Bessie) and had 10 grandchildren (Jimmy, Johnny, Connie, Randy, Cecelia, Bobby, Betty Jane, Larry, Terry & Donna). EJ's nickname was "Skinner." Their 1st home in Criglersville, later named River Ford House, was destroyed by a mudslide in 1942. They relocated to the farm originally built in 1859 by their Great-Grandfather, William Henry Weaver. EJ died of a massive heart attack at his home in 1970. His youngest Grandchild, Donna was shocked to see her Granddaddy lying in his coffin all dressed up in a suit as he always wore denim overalls with a hanky hanging out of the pocket!* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Apr 9 2022, 9:56:07 UTC
