Elvina Pallavicini , born Medici del Vascello ( Genoa , January 22, 1914 - Cortina d'Ampezzo , August 29, 2004 ), was an Italian noblewoman . Known for her humanitarian efforts as a mediator between the royalists and the allies in Rome at the end of the Second World War, she returned to the headlines in the second half of the 1970s for being the leader of the Roman black nobility in favor of Marcel Lefebvre 's schism which he hosted for a conference in his Roman palace.
