Elwood Albert Fauske, age 96 of Bottineau, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 in a Bottineau health care center. Burial will be in the Ackworth Cemetery of rural Dunseith, North Dakota.
Elwood Albert Fauske, a son of John and Anna (Ludvigson) Fauske, was born on August 21, 1920 at Rock Lake, North Dakota.
At a young age he moved with his family to St. John, North Dakota. On October 31, 1942 he was married to Eleanore Hiatt at Bottineau, North Dakota. After their marriage they moved to Thompson, North Dakota. In 1946 they moved to Dunseith, North Dakota where Elwood began farming. He also worked for the Rolette County Soil Conservation as a heavy equipment operator. In 2001 he retired from farming and they moved to Bottineau, North Dakota. they have resided there since.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Bottineau. Elwood enjoyed hunting, playing cards and making homemade ice cream.
He is survived his Wife, Eleanore of Bottineau; daughters, Connie (Bob) Monte, Fort Myers, Florida; Carrole (LaVern) Rude Vancouver, Washington; Beth (Al) Duncan of Yorkville, Illinois; and Arlinda (Tom) VanEynde of Yorkville, Illinois; sons, Russell (Glenda) Fauske of Bottineau, North Dakota and Brian (Deb) Fauske of Minot, North Dakota.
And 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Elwood is also survived by sisters Lydia LaCroix-Beck of Gilbert, Minneaota, and Ruth Clark of Valley City, North Dakota.
Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David; a sister, Naomi and a son, Steven.
