Here lies

The dear deceased, Itzik Rosenberg of blessed memory

He died on Thursday, 9th of Marcheshvan, 5619 of the small count

This Yitzhak though rich in his lifetime

he nevertheless saw affliction by the rod of His anger

He bore the wrath of God to satiety and drank the glass of His fury

His soul despaired when the wife of his youth died in front of him

When he buried in his lifetime his son and daughter, the princes

Now that he has reached his sixty seventh year

His spirit departed in his sickness, he was gathered to his fathers

His body is here, silent, dwelling in the grave

Until those who sleep in the dust shall awaken, they will soar on wings

Much peace to him and may his rest be glorious.

For in the spirit of his generosity, four hundred pieces of silver

he bequeathed as his blessing in memory of his soul
