"Fremont, Wis. - Mrs. Emelia Arndt died Sunday evening at the home of her son, Alexander Arndt, following a two weeks' illness. She was born in Germany Oct. 27, 1854. At the age of 13 years, she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Martin, to this country. They settled at Milwaukee. On April 15, 1877, she was married to William Arndt and they lived on a farm in the town of Fremont. Her husband died eight years ago.

"During the last five years, Mrs. Arndt has lived with her son, Alexander. Eleven children were born of whom six survive, as follows: Walter, Martin and Alexander Arndt, all of Fremont; Mrs. George Schmdit and Mrs. Fred Schmidt, town of Wolf River; and Mrs. Henry Vogt of Fremont. There are also 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

"Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church, The Rev. E. A.Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery here."
