About Eric Stephan DeWolf

Eric S. De Wolf, 48, of Sandy Oregon, died suddenly February 5, 2010 of a massive heart attack.

Eric was born in Maywood California, October 1961, the son of Ronald and Henrietta (Blood) De Wolf. He graduated from Carson City High School, Nevada in 1980, where he was a state champion and four-time varsity athlete holder in wrestling, track, and football.

After graduating high school Eric entered the United States Marine Corps. After earning a merit promotion to Private First Class from the Commander of USMC 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force as the honor graduate of Field Radio Training Class, Eric went on to serve with distinction as the Air Ground Combat Communicator, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines at Camp Pendleton CA, later deploying to Asia with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, supporting all communication requirements for the Rapid Response Platoon deploying throughout the region supporting high tempo operations. Throughout his four years in the Marine Corps, Corporal Eric De Wolf received numerous Meritorious Masts and awards from his commanders for his leadership and exemplary service to the United States Marine Corps and his country.

After Eric’s honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in August 1985, he transferred his technical and leadership skills to Hughes Aircraft Company, as a satellite and space weapon system technician. In 1991 Eric moved his young family to Colorado Springs, Colorado. In Colorado, Eric worked at Mission Research and Development Laboratories; conducting testing on ballistic missile defense sensors testing on ballistic missile defense sensors. After Mission Research was sold, Eric went on to manage high-volume Meineke, Midas, and Brakes Plus franchises, increasing their success by providing superb customer service. In his spare time Eric spent many years teaching life skills as a wrestling coach to hundreds of boys and girls.

In 2009 Eric moved to Sandy Oregon to start his own business “Hands On Technical Solutions (HOTS)”. Eric was an exceptionally talented mechanical and automotive expert, known by many as “The Car Whisperer” - Eric’s diagnostic and repair abilities with any automotive repair and mechanical challenge were unmatched. Always willing to help anyone with any job, large or small; he made a positive impact everywhere he went. While running his automotive repair business, Eric and his little brother Alex cared for his 74 year-old mother, Henrietta.

Eric enjoyed working on and riding his Harley Davidson and Yamaha motorcycles, building turbo charged rally cars, watching football as a passionate Raiders Football fan, and beating his little brother Harry in poker.

Eric is survived by his sons, Zachary(23), Leif(21), and Austin(17); and his grandson, Austin(3 months). He also leaves behind his mother Henrietta, of Sandy; his brothers Leif, Harry, and Alexander and his sisters Deborah and Esther, and their spouses; Karen, Grettel, Robert, and Christopher as well as his aunt Katie, uncle Jamie, cousins Lance and Maud. Eric also positively impacted the lives of his many nieces and nephews, and his girlfriend Nancy Ramsey and her son Levi.

A full military honors memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 1:30p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to a scholarship fund to be set-up for his 17-year-old son, Austin Edward De Wolf. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service and at the reception afterwards to be held at the home of family members, Ernie and Rosemary Brache, 40250 SE Fish Hatchery Rd, Sandy OR.
