Ernest C. Bowman
Ernest C. Bowman, 66, of Kipling, died Sunday (Sept. 8, 2002) at his home, following a brief illness. He was born March 5, 1936, in Scottdale, Pa., son of the late Kenneth and Helen (Hixon) Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a self-employed truck driver for 44 years with Putnam Trucking in Zanesville. He was a member of Bateshill Church of Christ and enjoyed yard work and fishing. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by a step-brother, Ricky. He leaves his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” (Reese) Bowman whom he married Sept. 24, 1960; a son, Eric Todd Bowman of Columbus; three daughters, Debra Lynn Coleman, Shari Bowman, and Missy Duty, all of Columbus; two sisters, Lillian Leyda and Fay Loar, both of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Joe, Shawn, Jenifer, T.J., and Sydney; and two great grandchildren, Jamie and Joshua Coleman. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Meek-Black Funeral Home Senecaville, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Petty officiating. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, P.O.
