Ernst Leopold of Hesse-Rheinfels-Rotenburg (June 1684 - 29 November 1749) was landgrave of Hessen-Rheinfels-Rotenburg between 1725 and 1749.
Born in Langenschwalbach, he was a son of landgrave William of Hesse-Rheinfels-Rotenburg and Maria Anna of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1652-1688).
He died in Rotenburg in 1749.

He married Eleonora Maria of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (1686-22 February 1753), in Frankfurt, on November 9, 1704. They were first cousin's. They had 10 children;
* Joseph (23 September 1705 Bad Schwalbach -24 June 1744), married Christina van Salm-Neufville (1707-1775), no male issue
* Polyxena Christina, Queen of Sardinia, (21 September 1706 - 13 January 1735), married in 1724 King Charles Emmanuel III of Sardinia (1701-1773)
* Wilhelmine Magdalene Leopoldina (10 October 1707-6 January 1708)
* Wilhelm (5 October 1708 - 1708)
* Sophie (1709-1711)
* Franciscus Alexander (7 December 1710 Bad Schwalbach - 22 July 1739 Serbia)
* Eleonore Philippina (17 October 1712 - 23 May 1759), married Count palatine Johan Christian of Sulzbach (1700-1733)
* Caroline, Princess of Condé, (18 August 1714 - 14 June 1741), married in 1728 Louis Henri, Duke of Bourbon (1692-1740) mother of Louis Joseph, Prince of Condé, who helped to organize and lead a large counter-revolutionary army of émigrés during the French Revolution
* Constantine (24 May 1716 - 30 December 1778), his successor
* Christine Henriette, Princess of Carignan, (21 November 1717 - 1 September 1778), married in 1740 to Louis Victor, Prince of Carignan (1721-1778); mother of Princess Marie Louise of Savoy, princesse de Lamballe.
Through his eldest daughter, his present descendants include the Claimant Duke of Parma; the Pretending King of the Two Sicilies and the reigning Grand Duke of Luxembourg. His youngest daughter is also an ancestress of the above.
