About Esther Kettell
Richard Kettle married by 1637 Esther Ward; on 26 January 1633/4 "Esther Ward our brother Atherton Haulghe's maid servant" was admitted to Boston church; on 17 July 1642 "Our sister Hester Ward now wife to Richard Kettle of Charlestown hath letters of recommendation granted unto her to the church at Charlestown;" "Ester Kettle, wife of Richard Kettle" died at Charlestown 2 July 1679. (Although Savage clarifies matters by questioning the previously suggested marriage date for this couple, he also obscures this marriage by calling Esther daughter of Samuel Ward, although there is no man of that name in New England available to be her father at this early date.
They had six children: Hannah Cale [Call], John, Joseph, Samuel, Nathaniel, Jonathan.
