Esther Ruth Mudgett

Help!

Can someone help me identify her?

I thought perhaps she was the daughter of Ephraim Abbott 1718 – 1745 and Hannah Kneeland 1709 – 1767. But that Ruth Abbott may have married Benjamin Pike 1759 – 1803 in 1781. I'm not sure who she married. She could not have married both men because she died as Ruth Mudgett and both Ruths had overlapping children.

I found that Ruth (Abbott) Mudgett died 3 Feb 1832 aged 83. She is mentioned as the wife of Moses Mudgett published:

That would put her birth date at 1749.

I believe Moses Mudgett lived with Ruth Abbott until her death in 1832 in Weare, New Hampshire as reported by the press. She appears to be present in every census record until 1830 and Moses has no wife in the 1840 census. Note the history of Weare reports Moses Mudgett's wife as Esther (LNU). This has caused some confusion. Perhaps her full name was Esther Ruth Abbott. I have seen the combination or Esther and Ruth used often during this period.
