About Esther Raduziner (Lessner)
She was a Mirro (cookie press) demonstrator in the department stores in Wheeling, West Virgina and in Denver, Colorado.
She also demonstrated other kitchen items including Presto Pressure cookers.
She was a homemaker.
In the house on Forest Hill Avenue, in Wheeling, Elm Grove section, West Virginia, Jodie Raduziner Rosen remembers her saying not to take a bath because the water would come out rusty from the facuet in the tub.
She also made sure that when the grand daughters visited that each time the took a drink of water from her gallon bottle that they finished it - every last drop. Because the she purchased her bottles of water from the weekly "water delivery man". It was important not to waste anything.
She knitted bed slippers with pom poms on the ends of the string that you tied to make sure the stayed on your feet.
She completed her sophmore year in High School. She did not further her high school education because at that time (early 1900's) most people did not complete high school in her area of the country. She was needed at home to help with the children.
She like to bake pies, Daivd Marvin Raduziner's favortie was Lemon Meringue. She roasted a whole chicken every Sunday for 1:00 dinner after the children got home from Sunday school. This was the family of six, which included her sister Nelle (Aunt Nelle) and her brother Mike (Uncle Mike). There was also mashed potatoes and green beans and of course pie for dessert. Or maybe fruit.
When her children (Betty and David) were naughty "one or two times" she threatened to run away. (That sure calmed them down quickly.)
