Esther Cassel Schlosser

Esther C. Schlosser, 97, of Harleysville, formerly of Souderton, entered into heaven on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Peter Becker Community where she was a resident. She was the wife of the late Irvin L. Schlosser, who died in 1991.

Born and raised in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Irwin and Daisy Alderfer. She was a graduate of Souderton High School, and was a charter member of Calvary Church, Souderton. She enjoyed playing golf and had a hole in one at Indian Valley Country Club.

Esther helped her husband start his business Schlosser Steel Inc., Hatfield and for a time ran the lathe at his small shop. For most of her adult life Esther was a wife and mother of three children.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Schlosser (Marjorie) of Telford, Sandra Velarde (Rodney) of Telford and Barbara Hickman (Gordon) of Souderton, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and various nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Walter Alderfer of Telford.

A viewing for Esther will be held on Friday, May 19, from 9-10:45 AM at Calvary Church, 820 Rt. 113, Souderton, where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.
