Obituary- "Ethel M. (Anderson) Sandy Cain, 91, of Care Haven Nursing Home, Sistersville, WV , formerly of Doddridge County, died at 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 1994 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born on Elk Lick, Doddridge County, October 9, 1903, a daughter of the late Robert "Bud" Greer and Olive (Swiger) Anderson.
Her husband, Corenlius V. Cain, whom she married September 15, 1930, preceded her in death on January 13, 1981. Surviving are three daughters, Helen Ketzel Bickerstaff of Pine Grove, WV, Doris Shuman of Burton, WV, Carmen L. Christian of Madison, OH, five sons, Jack I. Cain of Reader, WV, George W. Cain, of Jacksonburg, WV, Gary A. Cain of Porters Fall, WV, Paul O.Cain of Duboise, PA, C.V. Cain, Jr. of Pine Grove; two step-daughters, Edith Byard of Clarksburg, Gladys Morehead of East Liverpool, OH; one step-son, Harley Lee Cain of Weirton, WV; one brother Clifford "Tip" Anderson of Shirley, WV; forty-four grandchildren and several great and great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Case; one son, Rex Sandy; three sisters, Gertie Parker, Ida Murphy, Julie Swiger, and one half-brother, Marshall Anderson.
Mrs. Cain was a homemaker, a member of the Blue Star Mothers, a member of the Center Point Baptist Church Ladies Aid Auxiliary and a member of the Center Point Christian Church. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 28, 1994 at the Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union, with the Reverend Robert Merritt officiating. Burial followed in the Center Point Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point, WV. Family received friends at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday.
