Eugene Nelson Logan, 78, died Sunday at 10th Street Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been a resident of New Whiteland for the past 31 years.
He was born April 28, 1911, in Ladoga. His parents were Joesiah Logan and Dima (Brown) Logan. He married Wilma L. Bryant June 10, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon K. McIntosh of Noblesville; two sons, Richard B. Logan of Lawrence and James E. Logan of New Whiteland; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He worked at American Hoist Co. for 21 years before retiring in 1978 as a field engineer.
He belonged to New Whiteland Christian Church, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, Ernie Pyle Post American Legion and Lodoga Lodge 187, F&AM. He was a recipient of 33 degree.
The Rev. Kevin Raeger will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Home in White River Township. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
