About Eunice Goff

Eunice probably died between 1820-1830 in Rush.

The attached image is a reproduction from, “Pt. 1-3. Descendants of Daniel, James and Joshua Brainerd, Sons of Daniel And Hannah (Spencer) Brainerd”. It is a ROUGH outline of known, or PRESUMED information about the family. Most, or ALL of the children, were NOT born in Rush, Monroe, NY.

Samuel & Eunice were in Woodstock, Ulster, NY in 1790. They probably had just gotten married, as there were no children. They were in Stephentown, Rensselaer, NY in 1800 (very close to Sand Lake, where Philander's headstone lists his birth...thank God!). There was an older boy with them, and I've come to find out he had a son named, Thomas. He was a few years older than his stepmother, Eunice. It is unknown if he was born from a prior marriage, or if he was born out-of-wedlock.

The Rowley’s were in Nassau, Rensselaer, NY in 1810, and finally made it to Rush, Ontario, NY by 1820 (Rush would become Monroe County in 1821).

All of their known and discovered children were born by 1811. The following few from the list will be worked on to see if they can be verified:

Susan b. 1800 in Rensselaer County Timothy b. 3 Jun 1804 in Rensselaer County Paulina b. _____ in NY Austin b. _____ in NY Adelia b. _____ in NY

I also found a Norman in Prestonville Cemetery, where 2 of their other boys are buried, so I have presumed him to be a brother. On the 1800 census in Stephentown, there were 3 other Rowley men with families, Timothy, David, and Reuben. I'm thinking Timothy, is a Jr. to that Timothy.

Daughter Sophia's sources say she was born in Connecticut. My guess is the family may have traveled home for a visit, and she was born at that time.
