Biography

EUNICE HALL was born 7 March 1700 in Wallingford, Connecticut the daughter of John Hall (1670 - 1730) Mary Lyman (1668 - 1740).[1][2]

On 9 December 1719 in Milford she married SAMUEL ANDREW.[3][4] SAMUEL ANDREW (or Andrews) was born September 1688 [3] and baptized 14 October 1688[5] in Milford, Connecticut, the son of Reverend Samuel Andrew and Abigail Treat. He died 26 April 1728 in Milford of a fever.[6][4] He was a graduate of Yale, Class of 1711, but took his AM in 1714 at Harvard, an interesting commentary on his father's views about Yale's prospects.[4] After graduating he was a successful merchant in Milford. Samuel left no will. Administration of his estate was given to Eunice Andrew with John Hall paying bond on 10 June 1728.[4][7]

She was the only daughter of the Honorable John Hall of Wallingford and became first the consort of Mr. Sam'l Andrew son of the Rev. Rector Andrew: And afterwards consort of Gov'r Law. She was a Lady of an excellent character For Prudent Industry and Economy For Virtue and Piety. For Kindness Benevolence & Sociability and for a certain Nobleness of Spirit and Dignity of manners She lived an Honor and ornament to the families to which she was connected and died in this city June 3d 1774 ETAT 75.
