Eva Eisen

EISEN - Eva, passed away on September 29, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA. She was 88. Mrs. Eisen was born in Berlin, Germany on November 16, 1923. Fleeing the Nazi uprising she lived for a brief time in Amsterdam, Holland with her mother and stepfather before moving to New York City in 1939. She was later introduced to William Eisen, her husband of 63 years, with whom she lived in Manhattan, Mount Vernon and Queens before settling in Port Washington. Mrs. Eisen's son, Paul Stanley, is the founder, lead singer and guitarist of the rock group KISS. From the band's earliest days until recently, she was regularly seen greeted by fans at New York area shows. Her daughter, Julia Eisen, resides in northern California. Mrs. Eisen also raised her granddaughter Ericka Tullis as a second daughter. In addition to caring for her family, Mrs. Eisen worked as a teacher's aide in a school for developmentally disabled children and served as theffice manager at Port Jewish Center where she was a longtime member. An advocate of community service, she did volunteer work at the North Shore Hospital Thrift Shop in Manhasset, a Long Island soup kitchen, and for the Democratic National Committee. In addition to the family noted above, Mrs. Eisen is survived by additional grandchildren Evan, Colin, Sarah and Emily Stanley and great-grandchildren Vivian and Sabine Tullis, all of whom reside in Los Angeles. "My mother found so much pleasure and fulfillment in all the various types of music that she so loved." Reflects Mr. Stanley. "Through her that same passion was introduced and nurtured in us all. She lived long enough to see, enjoy and love a very grateful and fortunate extended family. She found numerous ways to contribute to her community and was appreciated and loved by those who knew her. My mom was the matriarch of our family and words cannot express our loss."
