Evan ROYCE died 1748. He married Rachel PARKER on 20 Mar 1724 in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut by Capt. Yale.
Thomas Yale moved to the new settlement of Wallingford, Connecticut with a "small band of adventurers." Wallingford is about 10 miles north of New Haven, Connecticut, also in New Haven County. He assisted in the formation of the first church there 15 Feb 1675 and remained a prominent citizen of the community until his death at age 89. On 19 Sept 1710 he was one of a committee of 3 appointed to sell Indian lands in the town; that same year, he and Rev. Samuel Street were the only remaining survivors of the Plantation Covenant of Wallingford. He was a justice of the peace, surveyor of land, captain of the train-band, and a moderator of town meetings.
Jacobus says Evan was not a member of the large Royce family that settled in the New Haven area, yet it is quite possible that he was. [1]
