About Evelena Hewson
On 6 April 1910 oldest son Henry Alfred married Elsie Hilda Hewson in Auckland. Elsie's sister Evelena worked as a dressmaker in Auckland. In January 1911 Evelena was staying with Thomas and Elizabeth in Cambridge when she became ill with pneumonia and was attended by Dr. Roberts. Unfortunately she died suddenly on 8 January 1911 at 25 years of age. Evelena's body was returned to Auckland and she was buried in Waikumete Cemetery on 10 January 1911. Source: Debbie McCauley.
