The question is this "Is Leigh the same as Everett P or are they cousins or brothers?" There is a picture of Leigh Cole along with Russell Vanatter and maybe Ralph. Leigh (b 1882) and Everett P (b 1886) seem to be different people both have fathers born in IL and mothers born in Canada. Cole, age 45( b WI-father b IL-mother b Canada) is a general contractor in Pueblo, Colorado , living with his wife, Mae M, age43(b WI-father b Denmark-mother b WI) and evidently adopted daughter, Edith D.,age 15,b Colorado and whose father was born in Mass.and mother born in India (Am.Cit). On the 1880 census (Familysearch.org) Stephen Cole and his wife Jennie(Mary Jane Vanatter) lived in Silver Creek Nebraska and he was a farmer there. Leroy(Leigh)was born in 1882 in Wisconsin. Is Leroy nickname Leigh? And is he son of Stephen and Jennie Cole? Not likely as there is no mention of him on the 1885 Nebraska census.. In 1910 Mary Jane/Jennie was in Bellingham Washington and married to John H. Stedman and the census says she has no living child. Hmmm...She died there in 1912 . In 1920 Leroy H."Leigh?" Cole and his wife Maggie M. lived in Middletown, Ohio and he was a conductor on the railroad. His father born IL and mother born Canada. Leroy and his wife were both born in WI.
