Evy Hannelius, 85, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on December 30, 2015. She was born August 14, 1930 in Stockholm, Sweden to Erik Birger and Anny Maria Lindau. Evy married Uno Hannelius, the love of her life in 1953. Together, as newlyweds, they immigrated to the United States. They originally settled in Burbank, California but just one year later, Uno was drafted and stationed in Germany. They again returned to California in 1957, settled in Granada Hills and had two children. Evy enjoyed raising her children and working. In 1992, she retired from the Veterans Administration and moved to Las Vegas with her husband. Unfortunately, Uno died in 1993, but Evy continued to build her life in Las Vegas. She became an active member of the local Democratic Party, worked as a Senior Advocate and participated in NARFE. She never forgot her Swedish roots and deeply enjoyed her friends in the VASA and SWEA Swedish organizations. She also loved to spend time with the women of the Red Hats Society and was an active member of Reformation Lutheran Church. She is survived by her brothers, Willy Lindau and Connie Eriksson, son Eric Hannelius (wife Karla Knight), and her daughter Karen Hannelius (husband John Garner). She was blessed with the love of four grandchildren: Lindsay Sears, Genevieve Hannelius, Zachary Garner and Lauren Garner.
