Faithe Parrat

Biography
Not much is known yet about Faith(e), the wife of Francis Parratt (spelling varies) of Melton Ross, Lincolnshire. She was probably born around 1575 given her 1600 marriage.

Francis Parrat(t) and Faithe Barre were married 24 Nov 1600 in Broughton, Lincolnshire, England about 8 miles from the later baptisms of their children in Melton Ross.[1][2]

Francis and wife Faith(e) of Melton Ross had at least 5 children appearing in the parish register with the mother Faith(e) listed on the last 4:

Marie was christened 9 Jun 1605 but only father Francis was listed. The 10 year gap to the next known child, Francis Jr is a bit strange, possibly they lived in a different parish during that time.[3] Very possibly she was named for her likely aunt Marie, wife of Richard Parratt who may have been a brother of Francis given the number of children he had christened at Melton Ross.

Joan Parratt christened 30 Mar 1618 with both parents, Francis and Faith(e) listed[6] original image[7] Note that Richard Parratt, possible brother of Francis Sr., buried a daughter Joan on 26 Feb 1616 so possibly Joan daughter of Francis was named in memory of her cousin.
Anne Parratt christened 14 Nov 1620 with both parents, Francis and Faith listed original image[8]
Faith Parratt christened 6 Jun 1625[9]
Faithe Parratt wife of Francis was buried in Melton Ross on 15 Jul 1628[10]. Her widowed husband Francis remarried to "Desporah Westobie" (Deborah) on 15 Feb 1629 in Melton-Ross, a review of the parish register image confirms that it was 1628/29.[11]
