About Fannie (Fayge) Hecker
There is some confusion regarding the dates of Fannie's birth, immigration and marriage.
The 1910 US Census has her age as 25, making her birth year 1884 or 1885, and states she had been married 7 years at that time, making her marriage year 1902 or 1903. Her year of immigration is noted as 1906, when she would have been 20 or 21.
But the 1930 US Census states she immigrated to US in 1903.
Some records support 1884 or earlier birth:
According to the manifest of the SS Cassel, her brother, Meyer "Silberschmiedt" entered the US on August 20, 1913, when he was 30 years old. This would make his birth year c1883. So Meyer around 5 years older than his sister Fannie, if her birthyear was 1888 - or only 1 or 2 years older than Fannie if her birthyear was 1884 or 1885.
