About Fanny Hoffman
Was she named after her grandmother Feige??? Born 1862 in Sabile, Courland, the younger sister of Yetta. Her older sister had married Chatzkel Jacobsohn in 1873 and had three children. Unfortunately the older sister died in Jan. 1885, leaving her husband with the three children. According to an apparent Jewish tradition, Chatzkel married Feige, age 22, later in the year. Feige became the new mother for her nieces and nephew. In 1889, Chatzkel and Feige had a son, Jacob.
