Smotherman, 81, of Greeley, CO, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Fairacres Manor.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2005 at Allnutt Funeral Service/Macy Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the Macy Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.Fern was born to Robert and Susie (Adams) Adkisson on December 10, 1924 in Milliken, CO and graduated from Platteville High School.She married Lawrence Smotherman in Abilene, TX on December 19, 1943. They resided in the Prospect Valley area where she was a homemaker and secretary/bookkeeper at Weld Central High School. She was a member of the U & I Club, United Methodist Church of Keenesburg and the Home Demonstration Club.In 1973, they moved to Greeley where she was employed as a bookkeeper by Tim Chavies, CPA. Fern always put others first, especially her family. Fern saw the good in everyone, was a friendly person with a good sense of humorFern enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting, baking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.Surviving Fern are her daughters, Barbara Osborn and her husband, Gary Spradling, of Greeley, CO, Betty and husband, Mike Coan, of Keenesburg, CO and Sherrie and husband, David Graybill, of LaSalle, CO; brothers, Charles Adkisson and wife, Gerry, of Greeley, CO and Wayne Adkisson and wife, Evie, of Denver, CO; sisters, Natalie Brammeier of Denver, CO and Beverly Walker of Loveland, CO; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.Her parents, husband, Lawrence in 1997, and sister, Phyllis Buckendorf preceded her in death.
