Fieldden (or Fielding) apparently committed suicide because his wife, Sarah Ann, died of influenza and left him with 7 children. The youngest child was Nellie and lay next to him when the suicide occurred. One child was named Mary who was born December 1884. All the children were sent to live with friends and relatives.
