Washington Post obituary: Frances D. "Frankie" LaRoche, 72, a reservations agent with United Air Lines in Washington from 1965 until she retired in 1980, died of cancer May 24 at the Hospice of Northern Virginia.
A resident of Springfield, Mrs. LaRoche was born in Binghamton, N.Y. Before settling in the Washington area in 1959, she accompanied her husband, now a retired Marine Corps major, to military assignments in Hawaii and the continental United States.
Mrs. LaRoche was a member of the Springfield chapter of Quilters Unlimited, a sewing and quilting organization.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Arthur LaRoche Jr. of Springfield, survivors include three children, Eleanor O'Toole of Westminster, Colo., Arthur LaRoche III of Roanoke and Robert LaRoche of Reston; a brother, Robert Dow of Syracuse, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
A daughter, Letitia Martin, died in 1989.
