Francis was a witness at the wedding of Simmons Fowler, on April 5, 1759, near Whipanock Creek, Dinwiddie County, Virginia. If he was at least 21 in 1759, he was probably born about 1735. He witnessed the will of Richard Fowler, dated 28 Oct 1770, in Granville County, North Carolina. He received a land grant in South Carolina dated 1 May 1772.
On 3 April 1804 Francis Fowler and Lucy Fowler conveyed a tract of land to Moses Fowler.
Francis deeded 65 acres each to Alice Fowler and Lucy Fowler in 1804. Both tracts were on Ferguson Creek, Waters of Enoree River.
Grover Parsons Fowler in The House of Fowler states that Francis was a son of Godfrey Fowler of Virginia. Evidence , including DNA, suggests that this is not true. I do believe he may have been the brother of John, Joseph, Thomas and Richard Fowler so I'm leaving them all as children of Godfrey Fowler Jr. and Sarah.
settled in this area in 1772 with wife Lucy.
