1714-1720 Richmond Co VA Deed Book 7; Antient Press: (Page 311) THIS INDENTURE made this 24th day of March in ye yeare of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Seventeen and in ye third year of ye Raigne of our Soverin Lord George by the grace of God. King of Greate Brittain France and Ireland and Between WM; LAMPTON of Hanover Parish and HESTER his Wife in ye County of Richmond, Gent., of ye one part and FRANCIS MARTIN of OVERWHARTON Parish in ye County of STAFFORD, Planter, of ye other part; Wittnesseth that WM. LAMPTON and HESTER his Wife for ye sum of Five shillings Sterling to him in hand paid by FRANCIS MARTTIN by these presents bargain and sell unto FRANCIS MARTTIN and assigns a parcel of land being part of a hundred acres of land lying upon JINGOTEAGUE in St. Marys Parish in County of Richmond being a peace of Land that WM. MARSHALL obtained a Pattent for for two hundred and sixty eight acres of ye saide Pattent bearing date ye Twenty sixth day of May one thousand seven hundred and Twelve, ye parcell of land herein to be sold and being parte of ye aforesaid Pattent begineth at a white Oak, a corner tree of FRANCIS SLATERs standing in a Branch near ye said SLATERs Fence and running Eastward along the line of ye said SLATER to a small Hickory standing in ye line where RALPH WORMLY JUNER run lately a Survey, thence along a line of marked trees ye same course with ye said WORMLYs Survey to a red Oake, a corner tree by a Path, being allso a corner tree of SAMUELL WHARTONs, thence along ye line of ye saide SAMUELL WHARTONs to a Hickory standing in ye Old Field by a Swamp side and by ye water course of ye saide Swamp to ye begining white Oak, lying in ye Parrish and County aforesaid containing by estimation Seventy five acres of land be it more or less together with all woods fences orchards profits and apurtenances whatsoever to ye same belonging; To have and to hold ye saide tract of land unto FRANCIS MARTTEN his heirs during the term of one year to ye intent that by vertue thereof and of ye Statute for transfering of uses into possession ye said FRANCIS MARTIN may be in actuall possession of ye said Land and be enabled to take a Release of ye said Land to him his heirs; In Wittnes ye sd. WM.
