While Francis' wife, Valenda, is actually buried in the China Cemetery near Elton, LA., this is the actual grave of Francis. No one living knows the reason why she is buried in the China Cemetery rather than next to her husband, Francis, the supposition is that after the death of Francis, Valenda went to live with relatives in or near Elton. Upon her death, she was simply buried in the nearby China Cemetery. At one time, family members wanted to move her remains to a grave next to her husband, Francis, but her grave in the China Cemetery had become lost over the years.
