The Bowden, Caroll Co., GA 1860 census, shows Francis Benjamin as Ben F age 5, born in GA, son of Tyron Patterson & Dorcas E. It is uncertain if is real name is Benjamin Francis or Francis Benjamin. However, the Cordova Patterson records in the family bible show his name as Francis Benjamin Patterson. The Bowden, Caroll Co., GA 1870 census shows him as Francis Patterson age 14 born in GA. By this time his father Tyron had a new wife Lucinda Caroline Smith. The 1910 Shelby Co., AL census states Francis Benjamin Patterson was a farmer and that he and both of his parents were born in Georgia. It shows that he had been married to "Della" (Mary Della Headley) for 8 years in 1910 so only 4 of the children listed were Della's. The first 3 children's mother was his first wife Louella Irene Jane Abernathy. Her name was taken from her daughter Cordova's family bible register.
