Francis "Frank" Pearson

July 31,, 1855:: Francis Pearson is born in Smith Township,, Peterborough. He is the 2nd of 10 children born to Harvey Pearson and Elizabeth Freeburn,, 9 boys and 1 girl,, named after her mother. The boys all have Pearson names,, excepting Francis,, who is named after his mothers' father,, Francis Freeburn.

1861 Canada Census,, Smith Township,, Peterborough:: Lists Francis Pearson,, A05,, living in the household of his parents,, Harvey,, A35 and wife Elizabeth,, A27,, together with 2 brothers:: Silas,, A07 and Nathaniel,, A03.

Feb. 13,, 1876:: Francis,, A20 marries Mary Ann Blanco,, A19 in Lakefield,, Ontario. They would go on to have 10 children of their own,,, 5 boys and 5 girls. Two of the youngsters would die as infants,, Margaret (Gertrude) in 1887 at the age of 3,, and Melville,, in 1902,, only 1 1/2. The oldest child,, William was born in 1876'while the youngest,, Caroline,, wasn't born until 1903,, a span of 27 years.

1881 Canada Census,, Smith:: Lists Francis,, A24 and wife Mary,, A23,, together with 2 children:: William,, A04 and Mezina,, A02. His older brother Silas and his family(wife,, 2 children) reside on the next property to him and his parents live 1 property removed from him on the other side. They still have 7 children in their home.

1891 Canada Census,, Smith:: Lists Francis,, A34 and wife Mary Ann,, A33,, together with 7 children in the home:: William,, A14,, Mezina,, A12,, Elizabeth,, A11,, Silas,, A9,, Francis,, A5,, George,, A3 and Alice,, A1. Brother Silas is now not next door,, but 1 property removed on the other side where their parents previously lived. The same family still resides in between them.

1901 Canada Census,, Smith:: Lists Francis,, A45 and wife Mary,, A44,, together with4 children in the home:: Francis,, A15,, George,, A12,, Alice,, A10 and baby Melville,, 2 mths old.

1911 Canada Census,, Smith (Lot 31,, Conc. 16):: Lists Francis,, A54 and wife Mary Ann,, A53,, together with 2 children in the home:: George,, A22 and Carrie,, A07. Francis Jr.,, A25,, is listed living on the next property (Lot 32,, Conc.,16). Brother Silas has vacated his parents property to some other location.(His wife passed and he is newly married- - to his wife’s’ niece). The young lady is his 1rst wife’s’ older brothers’ daughter. She has exactly the same name(Mary Jane) as his deceased wife,, albeit 20 years younger. He is re-starting elsewhere,, probably a good idea.

April 21,, 1935:: Francis Pearson,, A78 dies at the home of his daughter,, Mrs. J. Morrison,, 600 Water St.,, Peterborough,, Ontario. He had been there for 9 weeks. He is buried in Lakefield Cemetery.
