Francis DeLaMare, a Huguenot, was in Pasquotank Precinct before 1693 when he got land. About 1704 he made application for citizenship and stated that he was a Frenchman and a Protestant and that he had been in this government for 11 years. Isaac DeLaMare came with him to NC. Isaac has records in Suffolk Co., MA (Boston) and is published as being in Agnew's French Protestants in Exile there in notes from records of Boston Vol 35 of New England Historical and Genealogical Register.

LAND: from Bob Stokley,Land Grant to Francis & Isaac Delamare,January 1,1694,registered at the Pasquotank County Courthouse,1789 "William Earle of Craven Palatine and the rest of the True and Absolute ( ) Proprieto Know Ye we the said Lords and Absolute proprietors according to our great Deed of Grant Bearing Date the first day of May Ano Dm 1668 Given to our County of Albemarle under our hands and great Seal of our said Province Doe hereby give and grant unto Isaac DeLamare and Ffrancis DeLamare of our S County Planters Between them the Sd Isaac and Francis DeLamare to be holden severally a tract of Land containing One hundred and twenty five acres Lying in Pascotank Prect Beginning at a great Red Oake Anthony Markhams Corner tree thence East twenty Deg North a hundred ninety eights Poles to a Parsimmon by a branch side then down the branch by various Courses to a Red Oake on a point by the mouth of another Branch then up the other branch by Various Courses to a gum by said Branch then South thirty degrs West thirty four poles to a Buck the Said Markhams other Corner tree then along the Sd Markham Line East thirty Degrees South a Hundred and twenty poles to( ) first Station. the said Land being due to the Said Isaac and Francis Delamare for the Transportation of one ( ) to every fifty acres as appears upon Record under this Patent. To have and to hold the Sd Land wt all Rights and Previliges of hunting hawking fishing fouling into all woods Waters and Rivers not all profitts Comoditys and Havisam(?). to the Same belonging or appetaining Except one half of all Gold and Silver mines unto them the Said Isaac Delamare and Francis Delamare severally their heirs and assigns forever in a large and ample manner to all intents and purposes as by the Sd Deed is Granted or Intended,xx yielding and paying unto us our heirs and (?) yearly Twenty ninte day of September the fee Rent of one Shill for every fifty acres hereby Granted to be holden our Heirs and (?) in free and comon () Provided that if the Said Isaac Delamare or Francis Delamare their heirs or assigns after the Date hereof then this Patent to be Void otherwise to Stand and be of full force Given under the Seal of Sd County of Albermarle this first day January Ano Dm 1694.
