Frank Farkas

WALLINGFORD - Francis J. Farkas, 74, of Wallingford died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Midstate Medical Center.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1934 and was the son of the late Frank and Susanna Mezei Farkas. Frank lived in Wallingford for most of his life. He attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from St. Mary's High School, in New Haven and Bryant College. He served in the U.S. Army, and then worked at Dichello Distributors for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rae Lynn (Greenbacker) Farkas; his daughter, Susanna Farkas of Hartford; his daughter and son-in-law, Lesley and Paul Gustafson of Madison; his two granddaughters, whom he loved very much, Frances and Margaret Gustafson; his sister, Irene Horbock of Wallingford; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10 directly at Holy Trinity Church, in Wallingford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Wallingford.
