In Loving Memory Walter Franklin Hohl, born May 1, 1919, died July 25, 2014. Beloved father, husband and friend to many passed away at 9:45 p.m. EST at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Frank attended North Coventry High School and two years at University of Chatanooga, as part of his cadet training in the US Army Airforce, where he was flight engineer in WWII. Frank served as a Quality Control Manager at Jacob Pattern Works in Pottstown, PA. He was a member of Strichter Masonic Lodge, as well as in the Industrial Management Club of Pottstown, where he served as president for many years. Frank was also a lifetime member of Cedarville United Methodist Church. Frank had many interests. He was proficient in calligraphy, an avid gardener and a student of nature. He loved to build things with his own hands and could fix just about anything that broke. Most of all he loved music. He was a strong tenor and sang in the church choir where he met his future wife, Betty when she was 14 and he was 18. All his life he loved singing and listening to singing, especially when it was being performed by his wife or son. Frank's sense of humor was a source of pleasure to all who knew him. He had a strong sense of morality formed in an earlier era and was not afraid to speak his mind. His sensitivity and kindness bonded him to those who came into his circle. He was unique and irreplaceable. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Wanner Hohl, who was the center of his universe, his "star" son musician Daryl Hall and wife Amanda, his "angel" daughter Kathy Phillips & husband, Jerry, step grandchildren March & Orson Fry and Emma Louise Phillips, step great grandchild, Lauren O'Hara, brothers Herbert Eugene Hohl (Pottstown) and Richard Thomas Hohl (Iowa). The family is having a private memorial service on August 1. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Frank's memory to Cedarville United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
