MEMORIAL PHOTOS 4 FLOWERS 1 Frank Wesley Jackson, 79, passed away on May 14, 2002 at his residence. Born in Gwinnett County, he met Nevada Adams in 1947 and has lived in the northwest area of Atlanta since their marriage in 1948. He worked as an operator and instructor for The Atlanta Transit Company and later for MARTA, from 1949 until his retirement in 1984. He was a fifty year member of the Leroy Duncan Masonic Lodge. Frank Jackson was a veteran of World War II serving in China and the Burma Theater in the Military Police Division. A devoted Christian, Mr. Jackson was a member of Northside Park Baptist Church for over fifty years where he was a deacon, a much loved teacher of Adult Sunday School and a student of the Bible. In retirement, he was an avid gardener who worked diligently to beautify his home. He also volunteered his time to assist with the maintenance of the church grounds. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elaine Evans and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Brooks (Leon), Mrs. Nell Logan and Mrs. Carolyn Atkinson, all residing in the Atlanta area plus many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to the Northside Park Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1877 Howell Mill Road N.W., Atlanta 30318 or to The Atlanta Union Mission. Visitation will be at Spring Hill Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. The funeral service will be at Northside Park Baptist Church Thursday at 2 p.m. with interment at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill Chapel, 1020 Spring Street. 404-876-1022. May 15, 2002, Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
