About Frank Kampa/Kupka
Frank was born in the old country and came to Wisconsin with his parents and two brothers & a sister.
Shortly after arriving in Wickham Valley his father (jacobKampa) was killed while building their home. One of his horses stepped into a hole in the ground and caused the load of lumber to overturn and crush him.
Shortly after his mother Margaret Kampa re-married to a man named Urban Kupka.The couple then changed the name of the children from Kampa to Kupka.
In a letter from Frank's daughter later she relates that when Peter (Frank's brother ) came to Frank's funeral in N.D. he stated that their mother should never have changed their names "because there are no such people."

Soon after this his mother re-married a man named Urban Kupka and the couple re-named the children Kupka.
In a letter written by Frank's daughter (Julia ) in the 1950's she mentions that when her Uncle Peter came to Frank Kupka's funeral in N.D. he made the comment that their mother should never have changed their last name because " there are no-such people."
