Frank A. Koltermann, Sr.

Frank A. Koltermann, Sr., 78, of Barre Mills, went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, November 27, 2010, surrounded by his family at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born August 16, 1932, in Bangor to Willy and Laura (Niedfeldt) Koltermann. Frank graduated from Bangor High School. On June 19, 1953, he married Beverly Smith at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Bangor. Frank was employed at La Crosse Cooler and Gateway Foods. His real joy was his hobby farm and also helping neighbors and friends with several handyman jobs. He was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Barre Mills where he was also the church cemetery caretaker for many years. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Beverly; three daughters, Debera (Tom) Ghelfi, Carol (Rick) Stygar, and Judy (John) Rathke; one son, Frank, Jr. (Monica); seven grandchildren, Erich and Brian Rathke, Tina (Cullen) Harbaugh, Damien Vinson, Tracy and Trisha Stygar, and Tanner Koltermann; seven brothers, Emil (Patricia), Roland (Lorna), Gary (Joan), Roy (Clarice), Art (Patricia), David (Carmen), and Willy John; one sister, Loraine (George) Mael; one sister-in-law, Lois (Sherman) Olson; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his son, Paul; his parents; one brother, Willard; and other relatives.
