Referred to as "Judge Addington" in a land transfer recorded in Floyd County, KY.

On April 14, 1919, William and Sallie Hubbard transferred land which they purchased from Liza Burchett on 11-8-1886 to their grandson Virgil Hinchman which is described as follows:

"Lying and being in Floyd Co., on the waters of Sugar Loaf Creek BEGINNING on a beech tree at the old Mill Seat; thence up the Main creek to the foot of the grave yard point; thence up the Bear Fork with the Floyd Burchett line to the rock marked "X" thence with Floyd Burchett line to the deep hollow; thence up the hollow to the twin black oaks at the head of the branch, thence to the top of the ridge between the Bear Fork and the Cain Fork the top of the hill, thence leaving the Floyd Burchett Line and running down the hill with the MONROE ADDINGTON line to a small beach tree; ADDINGTON corner: thence with the branch to the foot of the piney point, thence with the center of the Point and JUDGE ADDINGTON line up to the top of the hill; leaving ADDINGTON line and running on top of the ridge to a pine stump and chestnut oak; thence with the top of the ridge to the head Wm. Merritts branch, cornering on a hickory tree: thence back down the center of the point and A.O. Burchett line to the beginning, First parties to have absolute control of this land as long as they live; then it goes to Virgie Hinchman."

Some documents show Monroe's last name Addington as Eddington, Edington, or Adington. Per Coralee Coburn, Monroe Addington changed his last name to Eddington. Nobody knows the reason for this change or if the name was legally changed; however a land transfer, a legal document, has Monroe's last name spelled as ADDINGTON. Monroe's ancestors also used various spelling for their last name.

Per a granddaughter of Monroe, Cora Coburn, Monroe was married in Virginia to someone other than Sarah Delong or Francis Hubbard. This marriage was likely to Cynda Wright as shown in Old Regular Baptist's obituary; however, I have been unable to find a marriage record to document this third marriage. Monroe is in his parent's home in 1880 as per the census record. And, he married Sarah Delong about 1885. Sarah Delong Addington died in January, 1901 and Monroe married Frances Hubbard on August 8, 1901.
