Franz married Jannetje Aten and on February 20, 1723, their daughter Maria was baptised in the Reformed Dutch Church [later First Reformed Church] in Raritan.

Arrived Nutton's Island, New York (now Govenor's Island) on June 13, 1710 aboard the ship "the Lyon of Leath", with his father Francois and siblings. His mother died in London prior to departure and only 5 of 7 siblings survived the voyage. The Lyon was the first ship of 12 to arrive. His father Francois can be found on "Hunter's list' (Governor Hunter).
