Austin Daily Herald Aug 22 1903 Pot Pourri Austin People were especially pleased w/electric lighting of Lyle. Plant that gave such splendid display was same that for number of yrs lighted Austinites thru city. Fred Fisher, enterprising citizen of Lyle, bought plant of Austin & engaged A H Bushman to install it in our sister village. There are nine street arcs & several inside arcs. There are to be 400 incandescon lamps put up. Each arc is of 2000 candle power. 100 poles were erected & 6 mi of wire strung.
