Frederic Adolf Wirtz

Grandfather of Friedi Schenkemeyer Goebert. Married Marie Michaels, fom Cleave, Netherlands in Duisburg on Rhine, Germany. Had 6 children. Ludwig cam to America in 1881. Mother (Married Charles Schenkemeyer) came to America in 1880. Rest of the family died in Germany - except for Grandmother (Marie Michaels) who married ? Harmon after the death of Grandfather (Frederic Adolph Wirtz). Harmon & Marie came to america in 1881 and lived on Chestnut St in Cambria City but later settled on Fairfield Ave in Morrellville. Grandfather Harmon was killed at the Open Hearth Furnace of the Cambria Steel Company Sept 12, 1898. Grandmother dropped over dean in her yard in Feb 1899. Both are burried in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetary. In Germany, Frederic Wirtz was a weigh master on boats on the Rhine River.
